Gappy side window

I've got a 10mm gap between the back of my drivers side window and the hood seal. I dont think a new seal will be enough to close it completely.I have tried taking a spacer out of the hood hinge and moving the door in on the latch. There is still a gap. Has anyone got any other ideas? THANKS CRAIG.

Is it the hoop seal or the targa top? If the targa you could try taking the door panel off, then adjusting the linkage to tilt the window forward if the gap is just at the back, or if you look halfway along under the window seal there is a adjuster you can unwind to alter how high the window rises.

As Paul V has said you can solve this by removing the interior door panel and adjusting the tilt of the glass or the angle of the runners the glass slides up and down in (with in reason). I had to do this on the passenger side as one of the runners was bent and making window winding slow.

Steve Heath's book talks of a small screw on the lift mechanism just inside the top of the door that will raise or lower the glass by a 3mm or so.

Aditionally when I recovered my targa section I found washers at back end of the panel underneath the roof seal holder that were there, I assume, to help close the gap between targa roof seal and the glass at that end.

The window meets the targa seal fine with no gaps. The gap is at the back [hoop seal]. I will have to take the door trim off and try and move the window mechanism inwards. A job best attempted without a hangover I think! Thanks for the respose. Happy New Year.

Might be worth noting the higher the window goes up the further it will go back as well.
