Spoke to my dealer that I bought my car from (new) in March 06. Told them about a couple of cosmetic issues I wanted sorted which ought to be covered by my warranty. I was told that they were waiting to be paid by TVR for some work recently done on another customers car.. They will look into and hopefully sort out the petrol smell I have recently experienced but won't sort out any niggles. If this is the case they have effectively reduced the value of my car as I will not be able to sell it with "remainder of warranty until 09". Has anyone else had a similar problem regarding warranties? If so do we have a leg to stand on with regard to legal action? Who should be brought to task, the dealership where the car was purchased or TVR? I have lost the thread of where TVR are at the moment, are the off to Italy or have they gone into administration, if the latter would legal action be pointless as we would be chasing shadows? Anyone out there with a legal background could hopefully answer some of these points. I thank you in advance for any constuctive comments.

See Latest News on their web site. I hope they will honor them as mine has a few small items to be attended to.

I just received an email from a person wishing to remain anonymous who also has an 06 Tuscan. They were told by their dealership that TVR had not coughed up for some work recently carried out, and the dealers had to foot the bill. If anyone out there has had a similar experience please can you share your info.

I asked my dealer last week...still selling cars with 3 year warranty...they had fitted a new clutch in a T350 over Christmas (which apparantly was a warranty job)...they had last been paid for warranty work at the beginning of December...I think we might be OK in the end,,,but obviously the dealers last lost faith in TVR (not suprisingly). Still think they got a cheek to say they selling with a 3rd warranty though.

Scurry

ive had a similar situation with a local 'approved' dealer quite recently, are you sitting down because its quite a tale!

after a call to the 'approved TVR dealer' to find out if they done warranty work, and after recieving a quite definate 'yes' i took my tusc 2 with the 3 year warranty to have the window washers looked at. i know they have never worked, but taking it out in dry weather only, i didnt deem the work to be that important! its still only got 4000 miles on it!
i had asked gatwick to look at them but with their unfortunate demise while the car was having the front painted there it was probably overlooked.
so, in getting there i was called out to look at the service bonnet... this now had a fcensoredg great big crack around the edge, which i know 100% was not there when i drove it there, ffs, it only had another 52 miles on the clock from when it was delivered back from gatwick, and i had checked all over the car that morning!!!!!
feeling pretty furious and having the excuse that they hadnt done it and it was bad workmanship by gatwick (which i believe is ........... well you can suggest a word! it ends in xs). and the way that they demostrated pulling up the service bonnet, 'with a sharp tug' im suprised it still had hinges on it.
to top it all, they then charged me to sort out the washers which had had the wrong plug put onto the bottle, and the washer spray bar was blocked with paint, FROM THE FACTORY!
WHICH IS WHY I CALLED TO CONFIRM THAT THEY WOULD DO WARRANTY WORK IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!
ranting ranting
they also mentioned after doing the work that they hadnt been paid for warranty work for a month.
so Scurry, good luck with the warranty stuff, it may just be the people i used tho!
sorry for the screaming and shouting but after a damaged bonnet and having to pay for warranty work im not very happy!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
clap

Sorry to hear all the grief you experienced! I have every sympathy for the dealers out there, but I think we have to take a stand. I did not buy my car from TVR, I bought it from a dealership that sold me the warranty along with the vehicle and were quick enough to accept my payment. If I get any problems with the car in the future that should be covered by the warranty and is not I will have no option but to take legal action against them. I think it is what we call in business taking the rough with the smooth. If you went into a high street store to buy a toaster that promptly packed up, you would not accept being told to take it up with Morphy Richards, you would ask the store for your money back or a replacement. Crap analogy I know, but it is late.

Totally agree. Its who you bought it off not who made it.

Who is your dealer
