Does anyone do side air vents (not sure whether this is the correct term for vents on the front wing after the wheel) for the monaro, or had them costume made and how effective would they be for cooling in this position.

Also after a trip home for the hols was caught out on the A171 (I think) between Guisborough and Whitby at Berkbrough that requires two wheel refurbs which along with two parking mishaps in Brighton one each for me and the wife means I need the full set. As all four require attention and changing colour is no extra I’m planning a change, ’04 CV8 with standard 18’ I am planning on mid to light metallic grey with a black speckle. Has anyone else gone for a colour change and was it successful.

Colour change is easy enough to get done and depends on colours of car and wheel as to whether is successfull.

You must have taken that hill a bit too quick to catch the wheels, not an easy bank going up or down though!

I have changed mine for a dark grey on a black car - it really looks good and has really changed the appearance of the car

Changed mine to matt black on a yellow car. Works well enough although the plastic caps need redoing.

Just for the record -those who do not know Berk Brow - is dual carrigeway going up/down a hill and includes a protracted 's' bend. It is in a 50 limit and unless icy, well the name says it all!
Sorry lads

Going up, false sense of security, back end stepped out big style overcompensated a bit as the movement was so large back right on the grass caused the car to go the other way, started to recover that when traction control decided to wake up and cut the power so finished the 180 I had just started came up against the kerb facing oncoming traffic so reversed to the car park at the top. Tracking and two wheels requiring refurb, I consider I got off very lightly.
Returned home, told my brother of my close escape, so he decides to take his Scooby up there and found it quite tricky, wonder whether any diesel had been spilt by the lorries that struggle up there.

As my car is black also with black HSV wheel centers I am very intrested in how your car looks and my wife requires some convincing, would it be possible to post a photo.

Hi M8

I am Duncan here is a picture of my car with the vents installed, they do nothing for cooling from what I can tell. The vents are HSV vents not the Holden ones which I prefer.

Thanks Duncan, they look great. I most admit that my interest is mainly esthetic with the issue of cooling been justification for the wife as planning a supercharger next spring. What is the difference between the Holden and HSV vents, and do you think they will fit the monaro wings?

The wings are the same as Monaro ones, with the whole pressed into them. Here is a picture of the Holden vents, there is another varient which are simmilar to the HSV ones but the chrome strips are painted the body colour.
