Hi I have already got a DS and was thinking about seeling that and getting a psp. I found one in argos for 129.99
www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5679591.htm

Does anyone know where the cheapest ones are and the good value for money are.
Are they better than the DS

They're very different to the DS.

All arguable but...

The PSP is more an adult toy. Great graphics, very nice screen, MP3 and video capability.

The DS is more for fun. Playable titles, much smaller (the Lite anyway). But more limited in terms of non-gaming.

Ok I got a 360, PC, and PSP and after 18+ months of owning it I hardly use the thing. its a good handheld but if you have a Ipod, console or travel long distances on public transport you may find you won't use it after a year of buying it

I've got a PSP, and still play it - good fun. There's some good games out for them and as soon as the ps3 is out, they'll get a whole new range of functionality. the ability to download and play ps1 games on them really stands out for me

I have both units and only have praise for both.

The PSP is much more grown up and will provide a more intense and involving game but this does not make it better than the DS. The PSP is more for a serious gamer.

As was said above when the PS3 comes out there should be some really good games available on the PSP

Go for at especially if you can get one for 129

Don't take this the wrong way, but perhaps looking at the second hand market would be wise? Yes, I know it's nice to have new and I too love the smell of 'new gadget' but... this time of year... lot of people flogging unwanted gifts. Might find one cheaper than £129, that way if it does turn out to be not your thing... you won't have lost much when you decide to flog it on fleabay/loot.
