Fuse panel access.

I'm now in my fourth week of Griff ownership and managed to fuse the cigar lighter whilst inflating the tyres with one of those cheap air compressors. Page 28 of the handbook says pull away trim from passenger side footwell. They make it sound so easy. My Bible still hasn't arrived yet. Santa let me down.I can hardly see the fuse panel, let alone get to it. Do I really have to take the Battery out? Thanks for any info. CRAIG

No you dont need to remove the battery , just pull the carpeted panel down and then reeeeacchhhhh , a torch will be usefull and possibly some long nose pliers..

The carpeted panel should just pull out and you won't disturb anything by taking it out.
I'd lay a towel over the battery to stop you arcing anything and to catch any fuses you drop before they vanish into the void behind the battery.
Long nose pliers to pull the fuses out, but put them back by hand because you can 'feel' when they are in place easier.
As Anthonyj says, you will definately need a torch.

Oh, and something to kneel on or your knees will kill for days!

Thanks guys. It looks like I'll have to cut a few cable ties and fight my way through all the wiring. But I expect I'll manage. My knees still havn't recovered from all the pleading I had to do to the missus to let me have the Griff!

Ah... you have got to love them - dash board light switch decides whether to allow itself to turn on or not at its own whim , a fuel gauge that has as much perception on reality as David Icke and a door latch that lets you in as often as a disgruntled nightclub doorman

Who would have it any other way?!!!

We would have nothing to talk about on here if our cars were reliable. I suppose the good thing is they are relatively low tech. But so much more fun when they are behaving themselves. In the few weeks that I've had my Griff, one thing that has surprised me, is how many people have said " That's nice. What is it?" But I was a bit put out when the window cleaner said "Is it an MG?" I'll be looking at my windows very carefully next time he cleans them!
