Could someone who's still got IE6 have a quick look at my site for me please...

www.networkingsupportservices.co.u and then click on products. There should be a Dell advert there. Works fine in FF & IE7 but I noticed a quirk that causes it not to display in IE6 and I haven't got that any more to check it irked

I *think* I've fixed it, but of course I can't be sure. Previously when I did a view source in IE6 the JS bit was simply missing despite every page being valid HTML confused

irked Thanks for that....

Anyone know why IE6 ignores the js. when IE7 & FF read and run it quite happily?

View Source in IE6 and it's completely missing????

if it the js for the call to tradedoubler.com then it is appearing in the source code.

incidentally if you grab the HTML generated by that js call and save it in a blank html file it displays in IE6 OK.

so it is the calling of the js that is the problem - though why I'm not sure. Is ie6 happy with making a js call within a div tag?

That's what I'm wondering...

If you click on the HP tab do you get some text in the div?

incidentally just tested the other tabs within products in IE6 and none of them display any text or images in the middle apart from BT broadband.

So something is amiss with layers perhaps?

Layers should be good... Don't overlap and are absolutely positioned....

I've just removed an "align=justify" from the text on the cat-5 and HP pages.... Could you do a shift refresh for me please and see if the text appears.

I'm seeing nothing in the div on all tabs now - Bt Broadband no longer works.

the code appears there in the source OK - just not rendered.

could it be a nested table issue - missing </tr> or </td> somewhere?

And that's the funny thing.... It's random in IE6 whether it renders or not irked

Bump

I've just tweaked the Z index... Could someone tell me if they can see any text or images on either the internet Solutions or the Products pages with IE 6.

Dell advert still doesn't work on IE6. I'd also avoid having white text on a light background. Looks like you're overcomplicating things to NEED to change z-indexes for this, etc.

(Will cover the SEO stuff you asked about separately when I've got a sec!)

It all works fine in IE7 and FF, it's just IE6 that doesn't work The Z index was a bit of a stab in the dark as I haven't got IE6 here to test it on. I thought it might be JS but even the Internet Solutions pages have missing text in IE6. Bit stumped as to why it doesn't display at the mo irked

Cheers on both counts thumbup

After clicking some of the tabs on the products page when I move the pointer over to top left corner of the page I can see a ghosted box that seems to want to open as a new window, I even managed to get a dell ad up by holding ctrl and refreshing the page.

I'm on an IE7 PC and need to run IE6 occasionally to render and fix reported rendering 'problems'.
One of our test team created me a VMWare image, light as possible (still 4Gb though).
Works a treat

Weird......

If you do a view source can you see this in the code? (I've replaced the usual greater less than with [] so it shows up here).

Well that's what displays the various tabs and the js that displays the ad.... I'm obviously being a numpty but why if the code is there is IE6 refusing to render it. Can't be a .js issue as some of the pages only display text formatted via css confused

and if I cut and paste that code into a blank HTML file and run it locally it works as intended and the Dell advert appears!
