Heater Problem and it's cold out there

Problem with trying to diagnose the heater is that it's so darned overcomplicated!
I went through a week of trying to find the problem when mine gave up the ghost (in deepest winter, of course!) - turned out to be the main ECU - had to be sent off to Blackpool to be fixed!

Hiya! Well, I'm certainly not 'bustin' a gut' to sell it, that's for sure! OK heater, I seem to recall the garage changing each part at a time until the culprit was found - so many parts make up the whole of the heating system, don't know why they made it so complex!
I've had similar issues where the fans just do not work at all, on cold or hot. This may not be the same as your issue but mine turned out to be the 'Heater Amplifier' P/N: ME0594 (possibly the connections to it) in the passenger foot well. Wiggling the connectors seems to sort the problem temporarily but the problem returns, cleaning the contacts didn't help. I think the problem is that the unit is not sealed (or even covered) and has a couple of large capacitors which seem to be quite exposed and could get knocked / wet if the unit comes un-wedged / un-stuck or however else it is meant to stay in place. TVR Power pointed out the issue and supplied me with a new one but I am yet to fit it as I think Royal Mail still have it!! So I have to resort to reaching into the passenger foot well ever so often and giving the general area a poke until it works (or get a passenger to kick it).

check above the passenger foodwell - there is a relay and the cables get loose - had the same issue fixed by reseating the connections there.
Ditto on that on !! I actually had a broken wire close to the control box in the passenger footwell, that might explain why it go's off and on.
