Sorry to hear about this.

They took my silver Y reg M3 back in 2002 without the keys. The insurance company reckoned they had uses a low loader. Interstingly, I had bought it with a missing key. It has always been in the back of my mind that there may be people who sell cars to dealers, retain a set of keys, and then either steal the car themselves or sellt the keys to a thief.

usually a low loader is used. A couple of guys in high vis vests and a tow truck, who's going to think anything suspicious is going on, let alone think to intervene!

I hate to say it as well but I'm not sure I would want the car back either, dunno tricky, I do get attached to my cars.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Now that really is not nice to hear. I must admit, i agree with the previous comments about not really wanting to see the car again. In my opinion it's better left gone than returned to you in a state of dis-repair.

Have you no tracking device on the car as i know that a lot of insurance companies insist on one with a car like this ?

Didn't your car have a tracker?
I couldn't get mine insured without one

Police phoned last night, they found the car Just off Hanger Lane, minus all wheels. Doesn't seem to be anymore damage than that. Nicked everything from the inside apart from the cd's in the CD Changer. Left a pair of rubber gloves.

Doesn't seem to be a professional job at all, which makes me wonder how the hell they got the car in the first place.

Got pictures, just dont know how to post on here

Bloody hell fireyikes

I’m surprised the locals hadn’t stripped it down.

Glad you got it back.

I bet 360stimo isn't.

Jesus, p1ss well and truly boiled, bladder heat damaged.....

Bad luck chap. Hopefully they'll eventually get caught for something, jailed and fvcked viciously up the shattered ringpiece by a HUGE gay prisoner every night for 20 years for the privilege.

No he probably isn't esp. if they've ragged it.

Just one quick question (that im honestly not sure about (and also i dont want to make you feel worse Chris))

Is the car now classed as stolen/recovered and would fetch less money than a non stol/rec M3?

I am pretty sure it wont be marked as stolen/recovered as no claim is being made (except for wheels and contents).
It surely is only marked as stolen/recovered when the car has been an ins write off (ie they have paid out and/or it is damaged).

There were a pair of rubber gloves left in the car. Im guessing they used the gloves to avoid any finger prints. I said that surely fingers prints would be all over the gloves, especially on the inside. The police told me they were too busy for that.
Always had a lot of respect for the police, that respect is starting to fade. Im guessing this isn't the first thing these 'people' have stolen, yet the police still can't be bothered.

The car needs to be missing for 30 days to be deemed stolen and for the insurance company then to pay out. So my car won't be marked as anything. Thank God

Thankfully they did leave the log book, service book etc.

get the underside check properly, if they haven't jacked it properly they may have creased the floor pan. Good luck with getting it sorted.
