CASTLE COMBE CIRCUIT ANNOUNCE 2007 RACE MEETINGS

Castle Combe Circuit is pleased to announce an exciting and varied calendar of race dates for 2007, featuring nine meetings for cars and one dedicated to motorcycles.



Highlights include the return of Formula Palmer Audi as Castle Combe's headline single seater championship, after a three-year absence; the first visit of Britcar to the circuit; and a celebration of 40 years of Formula Ford racing.



The season also brings up two landmarks: Castle Combe's 250th Special GT race and its 100th saloon car race.



Monday 9 April - Husqvarna Retro Raceday

Featuring cars from the swinging '60s for Top Hat Saloons, Cloth Cap Sports Cars, Oldies But Goldies and Stars of the '70s, plus the opening rounds of the Castle Combe Championships for FF1600, Saloons & Special GTs. This meeting will also feature a "meet the drivers and see the cars" grid walkabout during the lunch break, previewing the Castle Combe Circuit based championships.

Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 13.00. Admission £15 per adult; £7.50 per OAP; accompanied children free. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on the day.



Monday 7 May - Springtime Raceday

A festival of club racing, with races for Formula Vee, Stock Hatch, Locost, RGB & Monoposto Championships, plus round 2 of the Castle Combe Championships for FF1600, Special GTs and Saloons, the latter featuring the 100th Castle Combe Saloon Car Race.

Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 13.00. Admission £15 per adult; £7.50 per OAP; accompanied children free. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on the day.



Monday 28 May - Classic Saloon Raceday

Touring Cars from the '60s, '70s and '80s, including rounds of the Classic & Historic Saloon Car Championship, Post Historic Touring Car Championship, Classic Group 1 Touring Car Championship, Pre '93 Touring Car Challenge, Production BMW Championship, Classic Thunder Modified Production Saloons; also the Sports Racing & GT Challenge, plus round 3 of the Castle Combe Championships for FF1600, Saloons & Special GTs.

Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 13.00. Admission £15 per adult; £7.50 per OAP; accompanied children free. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on the day.



Saturday 23 June - British Raceday

Highlighting the iconic Mini and the Caterham sports car, this meeting has a very British feel to it, with races for the Dunlop Mini Se7en & Miglia Challenges, Caterham Roadsport Championships, plus round 4 of the Castle Combe Championships for FF1600, Saloons & Special GTs.

Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 12.15. Admission £12 per adult; £6 per OAP; accompanied children free. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on the day.



Saturday 14 / Sunday 15 July - Summer Racing Festival

Two days of action-packed GT and single seater racing. The headlining Formula Palmer Audi Championship includes a host of young aspiring drivers racing the fastest single seater race cars to visit Castle Combe during 2007. On Saturday, GT racing comes to Castle Combe with two 50-minute races for the EERC Britcar Championship. Featuring Porsche, Ferrari, Mosler, BMW, Marcos & Lotus, with the added excitement of driver changes, this is a spectacle not to be missed. The GT theme continues on Sunday, with rounds of the Lotus On Track Elise Trophy and Caterham Academy. For saloon car fans, this meeting also features the popular Alfa Romeo Championship, Dunlop Track & Race Saloon Championship and T-Car Championship (for 14-17 year olds). The Castle Combe Championships for FF1600, Saloons & Special GTs complete the line up.

Saturday: Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 13.00. Admission £8 per adult; £4 per OAP; accompanied children free.

Sunday: Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 10.55. Admission £15 per adult; £7.50 per OAP; accompanied children free.

A weekend ticket is available in advance at £20 per adult; £10 per OAP. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on Sunday.





Saturday 28 / Sunday 29 July - Moto Star Motorcycle Raceday

Two days of motorcycle racing for the new ACU Star Championships, Suzuki GSX-R Trophy, F2 Sidecars, Formula 125, GP 125 & 250, Ducati Sport 1000 Cup, The Lansdowne Trophy, plus parades and the Castle Combe Superbike Grand National Invitation Race.

Saturday: Practice from 09.00; racing starts at 13.00. Admission £8 per adult; £4 per OAP; accompanied children free.

Sunday: Warm-up from 09.00; racing starts at 11.00. Admission £15 per adult; £7.50 per OAP; accompanied children free.

A weekend ticket is available in advance at £20 per adult; £10 per OAP. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on Sunday.



Saturday 4 August - Classic Raceday

Featuring a variety of races from the Historic Sports Car Club, including Classic Racing Cars, Historic Racing Saloons, Historic Formula Ford, Classic Sportscars, Classic Clubmans and the Jaguar XK Challenge, plus the Castle Combe Championships for FF1600, Saloons & Special GTs.

Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 13.00. Admission £12 per adult; £6 per OAP; accompanied children free. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on the day.



Monday 27 August - A Plant LUX Traffic Controls Sportscar Raceday

A celebration of sportscar racing, with races for the Aston Martin Championships, Ferrari Formula Classic, Porsche Open & Club Championship, plus the Castle Combe FF1600 and Saloons; featuring the 250th Castle Combe Special GT Race.

Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 12.30. Admission £15 per adult; £7.50 per OAP; accompanied children free. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on the day.



Saturday 15 September - MG Raceday

Featuring races for the MG Trophy, Total Butler Championship, MG Midget Challenge, MG BCV8 & Metro Championships, Thoroughbred Sportscars, plus the Jaguar XK Challenge, TR Register Championship and Morgan Challenge, in addition to the Castle Combe Championships for FF1600, Saloons & Special GTs.

Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 13.00. Admission £12 per adult; £6 per OAP; accompanied children free. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on the day.



Saturday 6 October - The Formula Ford Carnival

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Formula Ford, with races for the traditional knock-out FF1600 event featuring the 3 Nations Cup, Classic FF1600, Classic FF2000, Historic FF1600 and Sports 2000 Championships, in addition to the final rounds of the Castle Combe Saloon Car and Special GT Championships.

Practice from 08.40; racing starts at 12.45. Admission £12 per adult; £6 per OAP; accompanied children free. Paddock transfer is free for all advanced bookings and £2.50 on the day.

This year the Ferrari certainly isnt going to have it all its own way

The RX is going to come back meaner and leaner...its even going to sport a new colour scheme

Yes Jon but keith's coming back with a 360 ferrari and that's gonna be quicker too which should give you something to think about and hopefully give us another good battle to watch.

by the way i will be organising another karting event this year if you're up for it not sure on dates yet

We've been on a diet! Ive lost 6kgs! And the car???? well its a little more than I have

The new car is going to be a lot faster!!!! I reckon we can look to lose another 2 seconds...so keith certainly better drive the nuts off that thing....cos Im not going to give him anything

6kgs you must be a right bean pole now then JONlaugh

So we could see you move up to challenge some of the class b cars if everything goes right
