Anyone got a spare stock exhaust?

I am currently going through the 5 or so stages of grieving following the loss of my exhaust back box on the Cerb.

In the local B&Q car park I stupidly went over a curb and heard the most blood curdling scrape of my life. On a quick inspection nothing seemed to have been damaged.

I drove her home. Half way home it seemed to make a few more pops and bangs on the overrun than normal. But not much!

I got home to find I only had one exhaust pipe. After using a CAB! to search the streets for my beloved silencer, I found the bloody thing, smashed to a pancake by some inconsiderate truck.

I have now stopped the denial stage and am fully in the greiving process.

The old silencers (from the connecting pipes) were stainless steel sports and with the full decat were too loud for me. Fun, but a killer on a day to day basis.

And so my final plea! Has anyone any idea where I could get a couple of stock tails for the car? Has anyone swapped theirs for a sports zorst? Obviously I am willing to pay! Anyone in the London or Cambridge (where my brother in law lives (could borrow a car to pick it up!) is preferable!

Alternatively if anyone knows any retailers of the original boxes?

There's one in the classifieds at the mo. But it was advertised nearly 2 months ago so might not still be available.

I have a 4.5 one complete with centre pipes, but not sure it'll fit.

Fernhurst used to have quite a few standard pipes laying around too, where people had replaced them sports pipes. Might be worth giving them a call.

I've a standard back box (with end pipes) sitting in my garage. Came off my 4.5lw when I had a sports exhaust fitted. The car was only 3 years old with around 9k of milage when the exhaust was swapped, so it should be pretty sound.

I live just outside Bedford.

Don't know if a 4.5 will fit a 4.2, but if it does and you are interested, give me a call on 01234 217214 and I'm sure we could come to a deal.
