Morn all.

I happen to have a pair of 3 point unused Willians harnesses (with short rear strap - Westfield stylie)... the way u do ;o)

Anyone out there tried fitting such stuff to the existing seatbelt points??? If so.. they are good/bad and what length eye bolts are needed?

Any other general hints and tips??

The rear strap is the only real problem, you will need to provide an eye bolt through the parcel shelf onto something solid - some later models have the roll bar mounts, I guess these might be closae enough to do the job. For the two front mounts you will need to use longer 1.5" eye bolts (rather than the standard 0.75" ones) as these bolts go right through the shell into the chassis. All perfectly doable I would say.

The big issue I think is that you shouldn't fit a harness unless you have adequate rollover protection such as a rear rollover bar.

Only the post 96 cars have the mounts so a K reg car won't have them. Covered in detail in Bible 2. Agree with Pete about the roll bar. Goto the rollbar section at www.t-v-r-services.co.uk to see what we are talking about.

Sure your car hasn't had a new chassis?
Or had them added at some point?

Could also have been a special order in which case you are a lucky man indeed.

My 95 4.0HC has a bolt through the parcel shelf behind each seat. I replaced one with an eyebolt to hold our dog in place in her harness

That may not be the same thing. The mount I am referring to is not normally used and a hole needs to be drilled through the parcel shelf. The mounts are right at the back of the parcel shelf. There are some body securing bolts in the same area so either you have used the body bolts or someone has drilled through already for you.
