That's probably an oiling issue. A clearance issue would have shown up very quickly imo.

Indeed. With 5500 miles on the clock any manufacturing issue would have shown up earlier.

If it is an oiling issue then that is something serious as the car was just being driven home through London in 30mph limits!

I still reckon it went pop because you were listening to Heart FM on the radio.

For Gods sake man, this is a highly tuned engine & you are supposed to drive it with some mechanical sympathy on short journeys.
