Probably a bit late to ask this.

Booked in for a service tomorrow- car's now 8 years old and it's first service outside of OPC.

Anyone got any feedback on these guys? I'd heard of them and they're not too far away from me.

Had my Boxster serviced there the other month. Very professional and courteous. Car came back clean and cost less than an OPC. I'll be going there again.

I PX'ed my 996 targa with them a few years ago and got a good price and service.
I actually had an accident on the way to pass the car over to them and did £700 of damage which they were good about - they rang Porsche and got a quote for a new bumper and added £200 to fit it and we agreed on £700. alot of garages wouldn't have been so helpful.

Laughable isn't the word.

Offered me £17.5k PX on a lovely 993 (which i bought from them) I sold 2 yrs ago; which i sold to an indie for £23k who in turn sold it for around £28k.

Then bought a GT3 from them 2 yrs ago. Offered me £13k less than what I paid them four months previously (mark one car). Was around 28% drop in price in 16 weeks. I wanted to buy a GT3RS they had.

No problems with the cars i've bought off them but they don't know the meaning of retaining customers. I won't be returning.

If i treated my clients like that, i wouldn't have a business.

Ajit.

They were recommended to me by a colleague, and have used them for about a year, since I bought my 996. They are straight forward and their pricing is fair and have paid attention to every detail on the car I have asked them to. Testament to their standards is the kit in their garage - they are entrusted with some very expensive motors.

Work they have carried out for me over time includes new radiators, new clutch, RMS refresh, new brake pads, replaced suspension arms, fittment of new rear exhaust boxes, replacement coil packs, fittment of Litronic headlights, new steering wheel I got off ebay, some paintwork... and just before Christmas full service and new rear tyres.

Only disappointment is that they won't offer a warranty if you didn't buy the car from them, but hey neither do most so really can't grumble. Overall, very happy with the service my P&J has received.

yes

Similarly cretious bid on my 993RS. IIRC they bid me £28-30K for it against an overpriced MK1 GT3. I placed it in the classifieds here a couple of months later, it sold within a week for £42k..................

I have no issue with a dealer making a FAIR profit, they have overheads, warranties etc etc. But when they make pathetic bids like Ajits and my RS they do themselves no favours IMHO.

Likewise I have no problems with a dealer that doesn't want to buy the car, but do yourself a favour guys, just say you're not interested because you've got too much stock etc, don't take the pcensoredss with laughable bids...........

I know a 'respected' indy who sold a LHD 993 RS in very good condition (original panels, low kms, good spec/colour, etc) for mid £30k's.

Their jaw dropped when I pointed out that they'd given away £10k

Well i'm back from my service. They seem to be really nice guys and I'd certainly recommend them- was very well looked after.....but then again my bill was over £800 (including two new rear tyres). Back next month for dics and pads all round (ouch).

Had some nice cars for sale, although they did seem a bit pricey- but a 997 GT3 RS in black/orange looked fantastic.

I'm thinking of using these guys. Was your service minor? What model do you have? And what was the cost without the rubber?

The service was minor, basic cost of £210 + VAT. I notice you have a 911, mine's a Boxster S so maybe yours will be different. I'm in the office now and the invoice is in the car- but I think the rubber was best part of £400 (18' Sport Contacts) with the total bill coming in at £817. So I guess approx £400 for the service alone is OK as OPC quoted me £320+VAT as a basic service (and at OPC they always try and tell me I need EVERYTHING on the car replacing!)

For info- discs and pads all round quoted at £900

I'll certainly be going back there

Why not do the discs and pads yourself, or at least a local non-specialist garage?

Cheers for the reply- that's why I posted the quote of £900 see what the response was. Was thinking of using a local (but decent) garage, but wasn't sure whether that would be the right thing to do. I guess your saying thats the way to go? I'll get a price for discs and pads from the parts counter at OPC West London.

Check see if the discs can be skimmed.

I've read on here that's it's a fairly simple job to replace, I'm sure someone better qualified than me will be able to help.

Probably under half what you've been quoted.

Have a quick glance at this www.bombaydigital.com/boxster/proj

Doesn't seem much point paying a high labour rate.
