So it appears that the 'new' TVR are looking to bring back the AJP v8 !!! It was mentioned on another thread or two

I've seen the AJP6 and SP6 as two seperate engines.
Think people can make up whatever name for the AJP8 they like, I was using the title above in a "transition" from MCD to TVR engine (cloak, daggers and can of worms on standby).
My news years resolution of not getting dragged into tangents on PH is failing miserably

Funny enough the wedge speed8 car had a developed RV8, which went on to be the 4ltr HC. My old S had the development of the HC fitted and was known in house and in TVR Powers records as Speed8 spec.

Really taking this off on a tangent now sorry. I must point out I was not being pedantic with my original question, it was meant as a geuine one. I guess the question was, was there an actual decision made by someone to say "We have altered the spec and design of the AJP6 so lets now call it Speedsix" or is it just that one could "interpret" them as different because of the changes. The SpeedEight designator is one I have used for the AJP8 before but is blurred because of the aforementioned Griff Mule concept thing they made by the same name. However the TVR power upgrades page calls the AJP8 the Speed8 so this is where I have always got it from.

Just to clarify again, not point picking or being a pedant here, nothing more important than I am thinking of buying a DVLA plate and was looking at the ones that started with S8 ..., didn't want to look like a numpty for saying that that was the reason I chose it and then be told that to refer to the AJP8 as S8 was technically incorrect.

Though, two Saggy-tuned Speed6's in Vee would be very cool. Deffo AJP as well, based on the fact that the AJP design was based around taking two seperate straight 4 engines and mounting them in 75 degree vee with a flat plane crank.
