Le Mans Virgin... Advice please!
Discussion
im trying to get a group of mates together for a trip to le mans this year, i think we'll be travelling down on the thursday and back monday and camping.
What i want to know is...
When is the last realistic date to book camping tickets? same goes for the race tickets and do I need to be a member of the ACO to get them?
Should we book for the grandstand?
I have had a look around at the different campsites but which is generally regarded as the best? or is that asking how long is a piece of string!
Also, Ill be going in my fiat, with some elises and maybe a F430, but i want to sticker it up. How much are you looking at for stripes, and a few largish decals?
Cheers guys

Use the search option and you'll find loads of info....
but for camping tickets, you are too late for the popular campsites but you should be able to get Beausejour tickets from the ACO until a few weeks before the race and perhaps even on the gate. Book through www.lemans.org - don't give your money to a ticket agency for BSJ tickets!
You don't need to be a member of the ACO to book tickets, look on their web site.
You can buy General Admittance tickets on the gate but if you end up in one of the inside campsites (MB, Houx, Houx Annexe (?)) you will need a GA ticket as well as a camping pass to get you onto the campsite - not much help if you turn up at midnight without a GA ticket and can't get one until 8am!
As for gear, there is a huge Decathlon that sells camping gear and don't forget the mantra "Carrefour will provide" - lots of people buy cheap gear down there and leave it behind afterwards - the pikeys love it!
Grandstands - ask the ACO, you're probably too late though and if you really want one will be stuck with a ticket agency but they will want to sell you camping, GA and grandstand as a package with each item overpriced.
Enjoy!

I booked with team Langoustine last year, we booked a bit late & ended up being miles away from the grandstand area.
This year we're sorting it out ourselves. Going on the Wednesday comming back Tuesday.
P&O Ferries £57.00 per car
Camping Bleu (opposite track & lots of action there) £53.00 per car
General admission tickets £55 each.
that works out £110 per person (2 per car of course)
I stickered up all our cars, My 928 GTS orange & blue Gulf stripes & numbers, mates Skyline & a 968. Got all the strpies & numbers made up for £50 & applied them myself, easy peasy! Oh bring lots of money for petrol & beer coz you'll do loads of both. Fantastic!!
