The R1 is in for it's 24,000 mile eek service today and I was given a Yamaha FZ6 Fazer on a 56 plate as a loan bike. Even when reving the nuts off it nothing happened it just felt gutless. I guess I'm so used to the power and torque of the R1 and 1,000cc bikes in general . Anyway I now know that I couldn't go back to a 600cc bike. There is nothing wrong with the Fazer but I guess you acclimatise to a bike with much more power and useable torque.

Had the same thing when my zx12r was being serviced, had a loan of an SV650.Sat behind 5 of 6 cars and seen a space ahead, nailed the throttle and gave up and actually fell back and changed my mind!As you say you just seem to forget just how quick big bikes are and how quick they propel you from one spot to another.

It is black actually and I know black is always the fastest perhaps it's the rather large screen that was causing the bike to be slow scratchchin

All bikes are fast it's just that 1,000cc sports bikes are stupidly fast and you do become used to the power especially if you have ridden and owned these bikes for a few years.

I know what you mean - I had an SV650 as a loan bike, at first I thought it was engineered out of the 50's or something... It was like riding some sort of argricultural machine! But... at the end of the day, it was nice to be on top of the power for once - also loved riding it around town... Ended up really enjoying the bike...

Remal - very different, having ridden a few bikes which are fast, 1000's redefine the experience - great fun! Have a test ride on one and try for yourself.
