Having called up yesterday and spoken to what sounded like a helpdesk in delhi passing as the receiptionist, I unsurprisingly havent been called back (I called the number from the website). In looking for the replacement for the maser spyder for the end of summer I've tried:

575F1 - loads of power but too big and too much for me at this point;
AM V8 - Dull, got bored during the test drive;
360 Spider - like this a lot, so a 430 spider can only be better;

Still to try:

Gallardo eGear
Spyker (if they ever turn up second hand!)

Hence I need to get a test drive in a Gallardo asap while I've got the memory of the other cars to compare against, can you folks point me in the direction of someone who could help?

Thanks

Dave

I wouldn't bother with an E gear unless you enjoy forking out for clutches on a regular basis.

I've just bought a manual Gallardo 07 model, its superb, and very loud!

Bruce Compton as already mentioned is the person to speak with.

rubbish

My e-gear spyder gets driven to work every day in central London, done loads of track days - no problem with the clutch

I think I spoke to the same tea lady!
In fact, I got so fed up with the crap service over the phone (never returning my calls and so on...) - I went up there in person.
Only to meet the tea lady in person!

Decided not to bother! (as they certainly weren't!!).

Regards

Ian

My personal experience of dealing with Lambo London has always been very good

I’ve always thought Steve was an excellent guy to deal with and he has been the most professional car guy I’ve ever bought a sports car from
I’ve also met Bruce on many times and thought he was a great guy

My personal opinion is that both Steve and Bruce are good people to deal with because they know about and like the cars.
Some of the people I’ve dealt with at other dealerships truly defy belief – I honestly think my 5 year old son knows more about some of the F430 options than some of the Ferrari salesmen I’ve had to talk to

As I’ve said before on here, there are many Ferrari/sportscar dealers who would do well to copy the customer service of Lamborghini London sales

I've known Bruce for about 5 years and I have honestly never met someone like Bruce, it's a total pleasure to do a deal with him. I bought my 360 when he was at Maranello's and could be more helpful even when things went bad with the car which were clearly not down to him at all. I was so disappointed I could do the deal with him on the Murci as I really wanted to give him my business but just could strech to the money that they wanted for an 04 car. Steve seemed very easy to chat to on the phone too, but as I said if there was to recommend a professional salesman for an award to his customers Bruce would get it all day long.

He just understands the proiducts so well, and understands that all people are different and has talked me out of cars in the past as he felt they weren';t for me, and I think he was right on those occasions.

Have dealt with Lambo London, and all the guys there are good. Bought our last car from Ricky, who was great. It's always worth speaking to William Glynn who has a student weekend job there whilst training to be a millionaire lawyer. He is the most sad, knowledgeable Lambo freak you will ever meet, so always worth getting his opinion. As regards E-gear, our car has now done 11k on a clutch, so as predicted by the sales guys, given the type of use that is impressive - the manual is better though(on 06 and newer).

I agree that driving the V8 with tc on is Dull but i would say that about any of the cars above. Try driving it without it on and see if you think its still boring. Im pretty sure on the test drive the sales guy wouldnt have let you turn it off. There cheap now also.

I think I know what you're saying but the AMV8 is a different kind of car as is the 360 vs 575 vs the masers. There is a certain grin factor that the 360 gives you, that the 3200 has more than the 4200. To ME, the AMV8 was very very capable but lacking that little something.

I can agree with that, it may be a car that gives you more of a grin to own than a grin to drive. If you get me....
