Mark Adams re-chip. When?

I want to get my '96 4.0HC Chim looked at by Mark Adams to get a few extra bhp out of the engine. I am also due a service so I was wondering if it is best to get the service done first, and then get it re-chipped, or vice versa? Perhaps it makes no difference whatsoever!
