Its a petition to remove speed humps. I think its a fantastic idea when you have low cars like ours. So I have signed it!

A worthy cause! I'm signed up. Whatever happened to that guy with the JCB that dug up the speed humps they put outside his house? I expect he's still in solitary at a high-security establishment rolleyes This country needs a few more people prepared to go that extra inch (or a couple of feet in his case laugh)

Tell me about it. I can't go over a speed bump at any more than 2mph to avoid slamming some part of the cerb on raised concrete.

They should at least have to be marked on maps. One-way roads are, so why not humps? I *will* plan my journey to avoid them.

Yeah I rememeber that guy. Wonder what happened in the end.
Lets try to get a few more people to sign it. I remember going over a load in the Chim with some idot stuck on my boot lid, as if I am going to go any faster and risk my car! mad Instead I just went slower

Yep, I'm signed up. There's another petition about the road charging and monitoring - I'll post this link on a separate thread.

Signed. But only 234 votes so far, that's worrying!

I totally disagree with the siting of speed bumps.
Anyone speeding above 40mph in a 30mph limit deserves to be fined £1000.
If they can`t pay, seize the car, and crush it.
I`m sick of knobheads in little eurocars with fat exhuasts creating havoc in 30mph areas.
Deter them. Hit them where it hurts. Their pockets. If they can`t or won`t pay. Crush their cars.
Repeat offenders. Immediate jail. Or hang `em.

Some sort of speed-hump removal vehilce would be very welcome... perhaps a cross between a bulldozer and a M6. A M-dozer-6 road flattener.

I wonder if there is a corralation between the number of speedbumps in London and the number of 4x4s?

They certainly appear to have both spent the last 5 years growing rapidly in number.

My route to work is defined by which car I drive as one will go over bumps the other won't.

Agree, but why are you insisting on all that middle ground faffing about? Why not go straight to your last idea?

Last Friday night some scroates slashed tyres on seven cars on my road. We were lucky and did not get hit, I would fully support speed bumps only if they were made by nailing tcensoredts like this to the road.
