Forum topics the way round wrong

Why is it that the topics start at the top of the page with the most recent message posted first on some computers, and on others they start with the original message ?
In other words on a 2 page topic I have to start at page 2 and scroll all the way down to read the start of the thread. Is there a setting to overcome this ?
