I have searched the forums, looked at the threads and will be phoning around tomorrow. However, just wondered if any of you guys roughly matched my profile and could help me save some of my weekend! 27 with 6 years NCB on chimaera 400 parked in driveway any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I found privilege to be the best, 29, 8 years ncb, parked on driveway - pretty close match, give them a bash.

Try A Manning

They quoted me £300 cheaper than anywhere else on a 4.5L 98 Chim, I'm a TVRCC member so got a better deal but at £46 to join it saved me loads !!! I'm 35 with a 6 point licence and got quotes of around £900 - £1600, Manning's came in at £765 with track day and unlimited mileage, give em a go..............

Me too, 27, 9 years ncb, parked on driveway, also added 26 year old girl friend. Privilege was by far the cheapest quote.

The price is important of course, but an insurance policy that does not treat you the way you would expect after an accident can cost more.
What I would like to know is how people were treated when they needed to claim by different companies.
No negative posts of course but if you say “I was insured by ……..insurance at the time of my accident, now I am insured by ………….. and the two names differ?
Lets hear about the good guys too.

I am also looking for insurance for a Griff or Chimaera prior to buying and will be ringing around next week.

Anyone used A-plan? They keep appearing on this forum offering decent rates to PH'ers. Also is it worth joining the TVR Car Club? How much do TVCC members save and what are the other benefits of membership?

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread a little....my prime need is for competitive insurance for a Griff/Chim for a 44yr old with 5+ yrs Company Car NCB, garaged and living in Worcestershire. Anyone with similar profile got any recommendations?

Cheers thumbup

Ron - don't match your profile, but recommend the following providers who I have always found professional; note my Tuscan has Nitrons so many "internet" standard insurers won't touch me.

- A Plan (am insured with them currently and recommended)
- A Manning
- CCI (Competition Car Insurance)
- Tesco

TVRCC - absolutely recommend, as good to be part of a very well run organisation, Sprint excellent, and many dealers/indies offer discount on servicing/parts to members.

Craig - Thanks for the heads up, was going to join the TVRCC anyway on the recommendation from a good mate, who is also a PH'er, and many more besides. Just wanted that final reassurance. Will call those insurance companies during the week.

Nice Tuscan by the way.....was very tempted myself but plan to start my TVR adventure with a Chim or Griff first and see how I get on but I do love the look of the Tuscan.

Pleasure - also recommend a Ride Drive course after a couple of months getting used to the car, and also a trip down to Le Mans with hundreds of other TVR afficionados! All the best in your search.

Thanks Ian.....will give them a ring tomorrow. How long do you have to be a member of the TVRCC before you can get a discount from insurance companies like A Mannings, A-Plan e.t.c.? I intend to join over the phone tomorrow.

Mannings have quoted me £531 for a Griff 500, 7,000 miles per annum plus 45 days foreign cover and track day cover, garaged, 4yrs no claims and TVRCC discount yes It also drops significantly after the first year - brilliant bounce

A-Plan couldn't beat it and bar trying someone else I think that's bloody good!

Anyone think that Mannings could be beaten?
