This outfit intrigue me. They seem to go out of their way to pee you off and never return calls or show any interest in selling you anything. So...
1) Have you or anyone you know ever bought from them?
2) Have you or anyone you know ever been called back by them?
3) Have you or anyone you know been treated by anything other than indifference in their showroom? (I'm including being totally ignored under indifference).
I just don't get it. Is there something I'm missing? Educate me.

Never called me back, never tried to sell me a car even if I was keen!Anyone would think it's a money laundering outfit for Prince Naseem and his pals...oops.
William Loughran have never called me back either so it must be infectious. At least Hartleys call you back to attempt open wallet surgery.

for what its worth i bought my merc sl55 from them, and had a good experience. I had also read posts on f-chat prior to dealing with these guys about lack of interest, sub standard cars etc. but as i said all was fine in my case, dealt with a guy called Julian.
Ive had numerous bad experiences with various car dealers regarding complete lack of customer service, its amazing that they survive.

This has been the case with 99% of car dealers I've ever dealt with, big or small, mainstream or prestigious, main dealer or independent.Going through it again now and it never ceases to
wind me up........or amaze me. Unreturned phone calls, unreturned E-mails,listening to the same old
about being in short supply, waiting lists, lack of product knowledge, and generally treating me like a
idiot. As I said 99% of them are the same. What is worse, is people put up with it, but someone as impressive as the TVRCentre/NobleLondon goes to the wall.Oh and while we're at it a thumbs up for Kent High Performance Cars as well. jdh1 said:

At one time i was thinking about a 360 spider, i phoned them as they had a nice black one, no call back. Decided to drive down in my 360, wandered around the showroom for 15 mins and was totally ignored.
Absolute Rubbish
I never fail to be amazed my car dealers that dont return calls.........it costs a feckin fortune to generate the enquiries, why do they do this.........last dealership i ran, it was a sacking offence not to return calls, also phone had to be answered within 3 rings ............I rang a Merc dealer the other day and it took them 4 calls to answer the phone.....crap.

bought nearly 7 cars of them and lots of friends have to you but they are like most other dealers that I have dealt with but they will deal on cars
Well that blows my theory. They're SO bad in my experience that I thought it must be a front for something else!
How do you buy a car from them? It seems impossible.

Unfortunately I have had some rather grim first hand experiences which I would be more than willing to share with you off line if you are interested?
Having lived in and around Sheffield city center for almost 5 years (left 1 year ago) I can happily say that i saw the stock from Winchester Cars been driven around Sheffield almost daily.
As has been said above i think the purpose of this dealership is a front for making money and feeding a lifestyle for a group of individuals.
Providing a service obviously seems like a secondary process

Yeah, how do you decide if someone is a time waster. I turned up in a 360, having phoned ahead (message was left and no one phoned back), and was there to look at a specific car - a black 360 spider. I was totally ignored. Hardly the stereotype of a time waster.

I've had mixed results, when I enquired about a 360 and on another occassion about a gallardo nobody returned my repeated calls. When I enquired about an S65 (Naseem's) they returned my calls a few times, albeit without coming to an agreement on price.
That's probably because they were still picking themselves off the floor from your 'bid em in the balls' offer

Unfortunately there is no way of telling who is a time waster and who has the cash ready to hand over, you have to take all interested parties as potential buyers.
The most unlikely looking people can have bundles of cash and those turning up in exsensive cars/suits etc can be in debt to the hilt and virtually bankrupt. all they need is enough front.
I know of a local landowner owner who went into a mitsubishi dealer (he dresses like a tramp most of the time), when he eventually got one of the sales guys to talk to him he made his day by buying 20 brand new pick up type things to renew his estate workers fleet.
With the internet/lotto type world we all live in, todays geek could well be tommorrows millionaire with more cash than is healthy!
After all its not too much to ask that phone calls are returned and 5 minutes are taken when a potential customer turns up just to have a quick chat with them surely. You only get one chance to make a first impression. And when Joe Bloggs's numbers come up I dont think he'll be rushing to a dealer that couldn't even take the time to talk to him when his bank balance wasn't quite so healthy.
Oh well, there goes another commission and the sales guy cant afford his own "nice" car again this week.
(Not to mention common courtesy and manners)
