Adjustable shocks

Its not me you understand.
Its the girlfriend. She reckons shes only 9 stone. Yeah right.
How come then when I took her out in it today we couldnt get round the multistorey with it grounding on every level. (Not really a problem cause the nice attendent let me park it in a disabled bay. Extra wide. Nobody to dink the doors)
Then to Sainsburys - good exercise - parked it the other side of the car park taking up two bays. Lots of shopping in the boot, but then every bump caused sparks to fly.
Now I do know that the shocks are adjustable. As a general rule does anybody know if they need to be turned clockwise or anti clockwise and how many turns might equal a raise of one inch.
Its either raise the suspension or dont take the girlfriend out in it again. Not something I want to do really cause shes promised not to wear knickers next time.

To be honest I've no idea which shocks they are. I'll get the wheels off tomorrow and have a fumble around. According to a search though it looks like its 4cm lower at the back tan standard and 2cm lower at the front than standard.
As for photos - did you mean the car or the girlfriend?

Thanks Ireland. Interesting link. I'm gonna try and set up whats on it first before picking up the phone and ordering new. Although I am struggling to resist. Its one of those hobbies that could well cost a bloody fortune. I already want one of those lurvly SP exhausts. A nice set of 18" Spiders. A light upgrade.............etc etc etc

Surely adjusting the shocks with the dials just determines how firm the bump/rebound settings are? Obviously the weight of the car preloads them and if you make them firmer it will rise up a bit, but an inch?!?!
Some shocks have a moveable spring platform that is like a collar on a thread. You might be better off arsing around with this to get your desired ride height, then adjusting the damping to suit.
My graunching problems were fixed after a trip to trackcar for new dampers, springs, ride height, etc. I don't really know what he did, but it's solved now.

They certainly won't rise much if at all from turning up the adjusters but most of the aftermarket adjustable shocks fitted to TVR will have adjustable spring seats, just whip off a wheel and see if the shock body has a thread for most of it's length.
If you are happy with the front ride height, just wind up the rear spring seat until it measures 10mm higher at the rear of the outrigger to the ground than the front.
