sat in traffic the other day the car got hot and temp seemed to rise faster than normal,gauge got to just below 100 and i turned of the road i was on to cool it down with a run.gauge started to go down and all was fine,since the rebuild i am constantly looking at gauges(good job i think)
anyway some time the next day i must have been thinking about it without realising,because i suddenly thought i never heard fans come on,so got the car out took it for a run then let it tick over till it got to 95-98 while watching for fans.no fans came on
disconected temp gauge wire and its a little green but nothing bad i dont think.well it was diconected i switched ignition on and fans started.
does this mean the switch is fu broken,if so where can i get one.
i havent cleaned terminals yet or put car back together,

When mine didn't come on, it was due to a bad connection on the plugs which are next to the fans themselves, i unpluged them and gave them a very good clean, they have been sound since.

Sounds like the temp sender is fooked. Had this with a friends Cerb in France, you can unplug it and the ECU will then switch both fans on as a safety measure, however it's not recommended to run in this way. The ECU reads the engine temp as cold all the time and hence over fuels when the engine is warm. Bad news if you're one of the small number of Cerbs with the cats in, as you can melt them!

thanks,is the temp sender the fixed one in the water pipe???,the conections dont look that bad so is it worth just getting a new sender.
