i've had a 147 selespeed for over 2 years now. its been very reliable. but recently the body computer went kaput frazzling some of the wiring loom along the way! it's has been repaired but now i,ve a major prob with a master code request for the integrated multimedia system. here,s the problem. alfa in the uk can request for all english sold alfas as long as you prove you are the owner by faxing them your v5 ownership document, but any imported alfas (you,ve guessed it, mine,s a flipping spanish import) you are basically in the poo! or am i? is there anyone who has any suggestions as to how i can overcome this problem.

Rubbish. What if you were spanish, had a spanish car and brought it with you ? Did the dealer tell you that or have you contacted Alfa UK ? Can you contact the firm that supplied your car. Uk cars are most likely recorded with Alfa UK so info is easily obtained. Your import should have come with the details and might just have had them recorded by the supplying agent (in Spain) It should be possible to trace it back via your VIN to the factory but do not expect it to be quick.

Thanks for your response. I bought the car privately and have no code details etc. I do have the name of the Spainish dealer who sold the car and believe that Virgin Cars imported it but not 100 % sure. Do you know who would be best to contact ??

I don't know where you are based, but my 156 is a German import and has been serviced at Newbury Alfa Romeo dealers since 2001 and had no problems/queries just because it was an import. You could try them?

Hang on, you should have a V5 anyway whether it's an import or not?
