"Would sir prefer 340 or 350BHP"
Discussion
Just another day at TCS then!I had the pleasure of seeing Joo for the first time in a long(far too long) while yesterday. We went up for a dyno run and a bit of tweaking, mainly to see what i'd increased the bhp to,since the last run, having done the odd minor mod.
It started off showing that i'd managed to gain a paltry 2 bhp myself, still,at least it was going in the right direction, just! So,with a new starting point of 324bhp,Joo set to work with a 'little something' he'd though of.What happened next was just gob-smacking
.We actually saw 352bhp from his best run!
.At the mo. the car has to run a slighly de-tuned 340 bhp, until Joo can make the 350bhp mod permanent, but even to get another 16BHP for now was something i could never of dreamed of.I thought that making more power was going to get much more difficult, once over the 310bhp mark, but this man makes it look so easy-i'm just astounded
.Best of all is that the gains are once again throughout the range(i'll get the before and after graphs up soon).Cant wait for the full 350BHP

Well Mike, if his 'little something' can gain me another 20 ponies on my engine spec' I'll be up to see Joo myself! Does the 'little something' cost a 'BIG something'? I think I remember you making a post a short while back ref' some home-grown mod' of yours. Burgerred if I can remember what it was though. Post me a clue off site

Hi all, heres a pic of the graph as promised. This is the 340BHP against what i started out with.I dont have the 352bhp graph,as the mod isn't on the car yet, when its fitted i'll post it!To answer a few questions:-The dyno wasn't tweeked(cheeky Andy
).The engine is still 5.0 litre. The mod is,i think, relatively inexpensive, for what it gives,it isn't ecu related. The driveability just keeps getting better, and still on the same cam(H404).
Graham,it still drives nothing much like yours, yours is easier revving, and more like Pauls 4.3BV,mine 'feels' more torquey because of this, even though i bet it isn't!!
Thanks for all the nice comments,i'd like to take the credit for it,but it's Joo's hard work and enginuity-
.
The near future holds just two more significant mods, and then i'm going to call it a day(probably),and i think the only person on here that knows what they're going to be is Ian(jester7),i need to have a chat with you soon about the one 'thing' Ian
.
I'm starting to get more than a little nervous about how far to go on stock engine internals!

Amazing for a 5.0 litre, Rev's 5.3 guess made total sense given the relative figures 5.5 engines have produced! I've a guess at to what the mod is, will send email to avoid any bean spilling and anyway, reckon I'm totally utterly and completely wrong
Joo does seem for having a knack of restoring Blackpool donkey power to the numbers they were supposed to be in the first place, first the Cerb now the RV8

Sort of makes the 5.3 and 5.5's that V8D do seem superfluous
.
.Right now i wish i had a V8D bottom end,for the strength of it!
For those of you who have been mailing me off line for details,i'm afraid i can't disclose the mod at this stage.Despite some of you being good freinds who i would trust implicitly not to let the secret out,i have to respect Joo's business here, and i'm hoping he will market the mod for the benefit of all,as it really would be a great thing for sure. Thanks again for all the interest and enthusiasm, cheers,Mike.
