During a recent visit to my Fibreglass supplier I came accross the following handbook which is back in print, cost £8.95.

The Glassfibre Handbook, (By R H Warring) ISBN 0-85242-820-0 (A5 paperback 160 pages)

The book appears to be a good intoduction to working with Glassfibre covering topics such as the materials used, mould making and fibreglass repairs.

If your intrested but unable to get a copy from your local bookshop, the Fibreglass shop's details are:-

The Fibreglass shop

Hello Darren.
The best book by far for our type of stuff is

"How to restore Fibreglass bodywork"
Published by Miles Wilkins

It is a no nonsense step by step guide on how to do the job properly

Published by Osprey publishing in 1984, Not sure if in print now though.

Neil.

It has been out of print for some time now, but is excellent. Must be worth looking for on ebay though, considering all the copies of "Success against the Odds" that keep appearing.

I have both books. Believe me for the novice the extra £40 is well worth it. Miles Wilkinsons book is excellent.

Garry,

I'm no expert, and I probably have a lot to learn, but some people make out handling fibreglass to be some sort of black art.

I was pretty aprehensive to start off, but you soon gain confidence.

Patience is a virtue when fibreglassing, it is easy to do but hard to do well. The late, great Colin Parry once arranged for Miles Wilkins to do a presentation on fibreglassing at the AGM (1983, I think), absolutely fascinating guy.
