Sales director Jason Oxley even went as far as to offer the preposterous vision that TVR would become “another Aston Martin, selling thousands of cars a year”.

Will this ever happen? Will NS ever sell the TVR brand to a true enthusiast?

Yes, but only one that has money. I'd rather he found an enthusiast with money and business acumen but I suspect they are few and far between.

It would need to be someone with an unparalleled vision that could cast aside all the negative baggage that presently adorns the great TVR brand. However the name TVR still evokes a powerful resonance amongst those who want a real uncompromising sportscar and as long as that connotation remains let's hope that there's a white knight around that can once again recreate the passion and adrenaline that has bonded several generations of the TVR fraternity and take TVR forward to fulfil the 'want' in generations to come.

Maybe this is a chance for Noble to gain market share!

Well - when Victor Gauntlett bought Astons it had just been through a Peter Wheeler style stage in its history under David Brown. Thing is - Gauntlett didn't - as far as I can recall- shut Newport Pagnell and sack the workforce before disappearing abroad. He sold it to Ford who put Walter Hayes in charge. Perhaps GM will buy TVR? Astons are still built in the UK

What will current TVR owners buy next? Lotus, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Noble or other?

After seeing TopGear tonight that Vanwall looks like a load of fun for 50k and I wouldn't have to put up with that passenger whining as we move inch by inch closer to the perfect apex laugh

Would probably tuck a Marcos away in the garage if the Tiv couldn't be replaced.

Yup, I'd say the new Marcos too. Especially when the Convertible appears.

Spot on. If he has offloaded all liabilities with the intention of actually giving up and walking away then you would definately hope that the buyer would be the right entity.

TVR did get to the size a couple of years ago where that would have and could have been a large car company but I suspect that that opportunity is long gone and so you would be looking at an enthusiast or a private consortium, which would probably result in the new venture aiming its sights lower with regards to production numbers.

I still hope that NS will run it as previous press articles have alluded as I do believe that could result in a better product.

Some of the Aston engines are cast in Bridgend. The assembly may be elsewhere.
