Replacing remote control battery

Simple question really have trawled the seach facility with no luck, remote battery slowing losing power and getting more difficult to open, before a get stuck can someone tell me how to replace battery and were to source a replacement, its the standard TVR remote from a 98 Cerbera.thanks in advance for your assistance.

The little black fob thing can be prised apart gently, inside there are two 3v 'coin' type batteries. You just need to replace those and you should be all set. I imagine if you took it to a key cutting type place, they'd do it for you.

There is no re-syncing of the alarm or anything like that, so its pretty easy.

Thanks Simon, you dont need to replace the battery within a few seconds on taking the old one out or anything like that then ? hope the old girl is still going well and maybe see you at Le Mans agin this year.

Doesn't seem to be the case, I've got a couple of fobs, so replaced one, checked it and then did the other one. No problems either way. I guess the 'smarts' in the alarm system is at the car end, not the keyfob.

Could be worth checking with an expert like Andy at APM just to be sure, but in my experience there are no problems.

Yep should be there again this year, my brother is coming over from NZ again for LM.

I did mine, so you'll have no trouble! And I only have one remote fob, so it was super risky! Didn't seem to matter how long the batteries were out for as I was interchanging them with others and generally messing about. Wouldn't worry too much.
