Hi,

I have several songs on my PC which are WMA format and have a low bitrate. These songs were sent to me by friends and so forth. The quality of these songs is low, with a bitrate of 48 or 64kbps (shocking I know). This quality doesn't do some of the songs justice.

Is there any software that can improve the quality of these songs? In particular, the clarity. My mate said this is not possible because the source itself is bad etc etc, but I'm really desperate to do something.

Thanks

Not from those files, whats lost is lost.

You'll need to rerip/reacquire to up the quality.

Sadly, your friend is correct.

The bitrate is poor, 64K is good for speech, not nearly good enough for music. 192 or above is good for music, in my experience.

Also I wouldn't recommend WMA as a format either.

Decent bitrate MP3 (192 and above) or FLAC is a better route to go.
