Sorry if this is a daft question but how do you get to replace your sidelight bulb. Do you have to take the wheel off?

Same as for the main bulb - either through the grill (touchy feely as you can`t see it) on earlier Chimaeras or through the wheel arch opening on later chimps and therefore jacking and wheel off for ease?!!

Take the wheel off. Remove the disc from in the wheel arch which is behind the headlamp. Then you can get to the bulbs. Remember to seal around the disc afterwards.

Mine's got the later split front instead of the single grille and it is still possible to replace the bulbs throught the opening althought not easy.

Would a broken side light result in an MOT failure?

Poop!! I`ll have to do mine then - couldn`t get out when I replaced main bulb so I`ll have to try again before the MOT!

Had a great idea when I replaced the sidelight bulbs on my Chimaera. (94HC). Found some halogen sidelight bulbs which were much brighter than normal bulbs and meant that I could run on sidelights rather than dipped beam (as I often do for safety/visibility). UNFORTUNATELY, the new bulbs were offset bayonet rather than the normal opposite pegs. Result = bright lights 'til the bulbs fell into the light units. (Blockhead). Now if I can find some offset bayonet bulb holders....
