Thinking of putting a catch tank onto my PJ along with everything else to clean/cool that lovely fresh air going into engine.

Anybody out there done the same? Cant see anything on forums?

I understood that a catch tank was to collect oil residue from the engine breather.

Can you explain a bit better what you mean?

That is exactly what I mean. That residue would normally be put back into the air intake side of the engine, has anybody fitted one to a Chim?

Lots of them are fitted to V8 rovers. My wedge has one using 3/4 inch piping from each rocker cover feeding a single catch tank with a small air filter attached to let the air/engine breathe. Usually used on seriously tweeked engines that can generate a lot of internal pressure. Can be a bit difficult to fit on a Chimaera depending on how much other stuff is sitting on top of the covers.

Just thought whilst I wast doing everything else to the car and I do have a spair set of rocker covers I could make up some pipe work and route it around the rear of the engine bay and down to an area where the expansion tank is fitted on serp engines. Just though it might tidy up then engine bay a little.
