How do I restore my pc back to its last restore point peeps?

I've just downloaded the latest version of Explorer and its crap, and I want the old one back.
Or is there a way or reversing the instal I have just done??

Many thanks
Cad

IE7 is easy to remove.
Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Program.
Find Internet Explorer 7 listed. Click Remove.

Job jobbed.

Before you go restoring things, can I ask why you think the new version is crap?

I wouldn't go back to IE6 if someone paid me - I think after a small period of learning where things are, its vey good.

Why do you have a problem? Maybe we could help you get round some of your problems?

Use Opera. Faster, simpler and less buggy.

Firstly, when you use the mouse wheel to scroll up/down, you rotate the wheel once, and it just keeps on scrolling. And you have to click and hold on the scroll bar tab on the right for a second or two just to cancel it out.
Very annoying.

Guess I just can't be arsed setting up all these setting its asking for either.

Anyhow, I'll give it a few more days trial. But do you know how to initiate system restore if I do decide to dump it?

Thanks

What make of mouse is it? There seems to be an issue with some Logitech ones, which you can fix by changing a couple of settings.

What other settings is it asking you for? On first run, it asked me about my search options, cleartype, and language, but I think it was only those three and it only asked once.

Was going to post the same thing - the only option specific to scrolling in IE is 'smooth scrolling' - and that was enabled by default in IE6 as well.

The first run settings are easy enough to set up - once done, easy peasy.

If you are talking about the page you get when you open a new tab - well you can change a setting under the Tabs icon in Options, so that it opens either a blank page, or your home page. Otherwise left, it'll keep opening the 'How to use Tabs' page

Ask here, and most of use have figured all this out for you

Give it time and you'll like it

There are a couple of links on this webuser forum but I don't have a Logitech mouse (nor a problem with the scroll wheel) so I can't guarantee they'll make any difference.

Thanks for your replies chaps.

I assume no one does know how to initiate system restore? Sarah keeps referring how to remove a program in the add/remove programs. But thats not what I want to do. As I don't know what versoin I was running before, so I can't re download it again. So I don't want to just delete it.
Thanks anyway Sarah.

Another thing I preferred on the older version is that the blue 'back & forward' buttons were bigger, and easier to hit when rapid searching.

Anyway. The system restore thing would be greatly acknowledged if anyone knows.

Cheers

Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore.

So you didn't have any joy with changing the Logitech mouse settings / getting an updated Logitech driver / using the native XP drivers, then?

edit to add that I've never tried it, but I believe that ThePassenger's advice (uninstalling IE7) reinstates the IE6 installation that you had previously.

The mods knew by way of a thread I created in the Mod forum, but didn't feel the need to create a thread to tell everyone

And, no, I don't live in Bolton hehe

You're welcome. For the next person that has the problem, did changing the mouse settings / drivers not make any difference?
