Not too many jobs to complete now. I'm thinking about installing a pair of gas rams on the front clip using the original mounting points on the clip and cross member by the radiator. Has anyone else done this? Just trying to work out what length and pressure.

Put them in the same place as the factory bar and then measure the length required fully open and closed.

You can then buy adjustable rams that you gradually let pressure out until they are the strength you require.

Not as easy as it sounds on this as the normal suports fold up so the closed distance, is very short....

Good luck

if it is mounted lower down the same chasis rail but in the same place on the body it should work.

Where can you get those adjustable rams from?

I found the gas rams in RS catalogue (rswww.com) listed as Gas Springs and Accessories.
