I don't know...maybe forum members have heard of this already but I just got sent this bit of advice!

Worth reading and being aware of anyway I thought?

Worth reading this...

ALL CAR OWNERS AND CAR DRIVERS PLEASE READ Warning!!!!

Be aware of new car-jacking scheme.

You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. Then

you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift or put into

reverse. You look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your

parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle

of the rear window.

So, you shift the gear stick back into park or neutral, unlock your

doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper or whatever it

is that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car

that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your

car and take off!!

Your engine was running, you would have left your purse in the car and

they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED IN GLASGOW

AND MANCHESTER AND IS MAKING ITS WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY!!!!!!!!

Just drive away and remove the paper later! It is stuck to your

window and be thankful that you read this email. I hope you will

forward this to friends and family, especially to women! A purse

contains all identification and you certainly do NOT want someone

getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!!!

JUST BE AWARE AND TAKE CARE, IT WILL PROBABLY SOON ARRIVE IN YOUR

AREA

Whether the message that's currently circulating is a spoof or not I'd consider it a feasible means of carjacking and would investigate any paperwork attached to my car after I'd driven some distance from where it was parked.

If somebody's serious about a car-jacking I'm sure there are more effective ways to get people out of their cars. Not exactly an everyday problem is it, though?

There are many known methods and it's quite common in Bradford which is pretty near where I live. Mate at work was forced to stop his Seat Ibiza as he took a shortcut down a back street on his way home from work. He was then pulled out of his car at gunpoint! Another work colleage was driving to work in her Suzuki Cappucino when a van came up behind her and pushed her gently into the back of another van which had pulled out in front of her. When they all stopped there was a bit of a gap and she managed to drive out and escape but not before a large gang of blokes had tried to stop her... so that's two people I know.

if these origami car jackers make it to London i shall quickly fold a paper knife out of my pay & display ticket and give them a ruddy paper cut (as they drive off in my car)

Easy way to spot spoof or chain mails - is that they usually say towards the end "forward this message to all your friends"

also look for obvious Americanisms, like "purse" instead of "handbag".

I am posting this to you to warn you of something that happened to me as I am a victim of the latest scam at a mall while shopping. This happened at the ASDA Shopping Mall and it could happen to you. Here's how the scam works:

Two good looking 18 year old girls come to your car as you are leaving while your are placing your packages on the floor of the front seat.
One starts wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex while the other comes to your window saying "Hi" while bending over with her breasts almost coming out of her blouse. It will be impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say "No" and beg you for a ride to another Mall.

You agree and tell them to sit in the back seat. On the way, they start having sex with each other. Then one of them climbs over into the
front seat and performs oral sex on you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I was assaulted last Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but I couldn't find them Saturday or Sunday.
