Custom / scratch build cars section

Hi,

There's a thread in the PHEA section asking after a custom cars section: http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.

Given that there are a few projects in the kit car section for scratch builds at the moment, and there appears to be a few more, could we have a custom car section? I'm not sure it would get lots of traffic, but it would pull a few threads from other places (engine, body and kit car) into a more coherent stream.

I agree, hot rods and customs are not kit cars, and they don't 'fit' in that forum. Neither do the specials that some people on here build.

I also have to agree........Custom cars and Hot Rods have a huge following and you might be surprised how many are put off being lumped together with kit cars and maybe other dare I say oridinary car modifiers!

Usual criteria apply. If there's enough demand/chat then I'm happy to create a forum (forums with only a few users aren't great).

Hi Ted,

Well as a Petrolhead, I am in the process of building a custom MK1 Zephyr project. This is definately not a kit car and has some truely one of stuff.
Could be a good idea for using the 'new' room to sound off ideas to other ike mind custom freaks.

If you are interested I have just made a MK1 Zephyr mould for a 1 piece flip front Front wings valance and bonnet I have done this as a 1 off but making 2 is just as easy!

Sounds ideal but mine is going for the sleeper look and is going into the paint shop in the next few weeks otherwise I would have jumped at the chance.
You should be able to shift a few to the drag racers as there are a few out and about now.

Where abouts are you ?

We are based near Norwich about 8 miles north in a place called Buxton with Lammas if you are in need of any parts let me know we have a good axel setup going using RS2000 diff and half shafts with X19 discs the car currently has a rover V8 sitting in it on Granada hubs and cortina discs also all we really want from the car is the glass and roof the rest will be up for grabs providing the right amount of spondoolicks are involved
