My neighbour has just had a Toyota RAV4 converted to Xenon Headlights...I also have a renault Clio 197 with factory fitted Xenon's it is really nice to drive at night-time - the lighting is loads better than my Porsche...anyone got any experience of a headlight conversion on a 911/997 ? The guy who fitted my neighbours is quoting £310 inc VAT and fitting. He says he fits the unit inside the front wing behind the lights. My 997 didn't come with the Xenon lights , mainly because it cost an extra £626.28 ! at the time which I didn't realise would have been money well spent...especially in the winter..

Is it worth it ? Are there any risks ? Anyone got any experience of it ?

the standard C2S factory set up comes with automatic beam levelling (some gubbins attached to the rear suspension) and headlamp washers which I think are there by law in the UK but no idea what effect fitting xenon lamps afterwards would have and where you would stand legally.

C2S has xenon as standard. 997 does not. You can after market fit xenon lamps and you do not legally have to fit headlamp wash. Only cars from manufacturers need headlamp wash.
