Pads, which ones to go for?

Ok, its been done before but......

precat griff, 500 spec rears, and 283+granada cosworth calipers on the front?

EBC red/greens or ferodo(DS2000's?)

Fast road use is the norm.........

I have Ferrodo DS2500's on the front and they are excellant all rounders(road/track), but have EBC green stuff on the rears (Dulford's recomendation, and so far I have to agree, gives good brake balance).

Any thoughts on a good supplier and roughly what cost are they?

I have Ferrodo DS2500s on the Impreza and EBC Redstuff ceramics on the TVR. Both work well.

I found that Motorsport World were the cheapest place early last year, and their delivery is usually prompt.

I also use Mintex 1144 for fast road, Trackdays and Sprints and can thoroughly recommend them. Used them for years and wouldn`t use anything else, only MHO though!

Ditto on the pads, also a good brake fluid helps due to higher temperatures, braided hoses etc etc etc

Not sure if it's the larger front discs & calipers on my car, but I wouldn't recommend EBC reds for road use, especially in wetter, coller weather.

If it's raining and I'm on an M'way or dual carriageway I need to remember to 'warm' the pads evey so often. Had a few interesting moments approaching roundabouts..

Have used EBC greens a lot and been v. pleased with them though.

Not sure specifically - I though all the Red were/had been ceramic - but I think the Reds are more orientated to competition use, whereas the Greens will probably be better suited to road use.

And, of course, don't forget it's usually best to match the materials front to rear.

Same here, EBC Reds all round, with drilled/grooved disks very pleased with them - but I only normally use the Tiv on dry days for hooning ;-) . Fantastic set of stoppers when warm, bit variable when cold. I will never forget coming off a motorway onto the slip at 60 ish towards a roundabout on a cold wet morning, gently feed in the brakes...hmmm...give it a bit more...feck...give it a good shove ..ah finally we are slowing down a bit ! This after about 40 miles of empty motorway with no braking. Lesson learned.
