Griff 500 Front brakes on a Pre Cat

Am looking at swapping the setup on my 4.0 Pre Cat to Griff 500 parts.

What issues are there likely to be swapping to 500 Calipers and discs of 260mm diameter. Will the discs and calipers clear the std 15" 5 spoke front wheels. Are the calipers a straight swap?

Any advice from people who have this conversion would be most appreciated...

Thanks for the reply. The reason behind asking is that one of my front calipers has started sticking. Typically it was fine for the MOT in November but since then i've hardly used the car due to the bad weather and xmas. Have taken it for a couple of drives but the problem is persisting and i dont think will get better with use.

I'm exploring my options of what i can do. I currently have uprated discs fitted of the grooved and drilled variety which are still fairly new but thought a 500 upgrade might be a good one to do anyway.

I could well be interested in your calipers depending on what i find out.

Or maybe if anyone has a spare pre cat OSF caliper i could buy to tide me over ??

Hi there. i have a 4.0 pre cat griff. and its got 500 spec brakes on, i brought the car of ian @ Sportmotive. a stunning car. he also upgrade other stuff like new radiator, 500 twin fans, hope this helps. James

Surely a clean & rebuild with new seals is quicker/cheaper in the short term? Dave

At the moment i am looking for the cheapest fix, either a refresh of the existing caliper or a s/h one thats works ok for a quick swap over. The car is for sale and i would prefer to get this sorted out rather than have to say to potential buyers it has this little problem, although the price is reducd to reflect it needs this doing.

Theres a guy on here that is selling a kit consisting of pads, 260mm ebc discs and refurbed 500 calipers for £250
