2007 Defender-what date does it go on sale

Just wondered if anyone knew what date the 07 defender is going on sale?

Just enquired today actually, New Zealand due to get their first ones in March/April if thats any use.....although at an estimated entry level price of 69,000$nz, and a hilux been 50,000$ i'd be suprised if they sell any, which is rather a shame.

Hello, is this the new Defender with the updated interior?
I am Thinking about changing the Disco3 only to have that new car feeling. I love it to bits but also heard from a friend the huge hit he just took on his disco got me thinking.

Any more spec on the new Defender?New enging etc? I cant find any on the web.

Hi, yes its the new defender. Got a disco-esque interior, slight bulge in bonnet, front seats are bit taller, Ford sourced 2.4TD engine, 6 speed box and the rear bench seats are now forward facing. Think thats about it really.

Drives a lot better than previous defenders - smoother, quieter and more powerful.

What spec have you ordered or is it pre determined?

I've gone for the 90 XS in Java Black, with all the standard options. Black Interior, A/C, etc, etc.

Good luck, I managed to get about £2,500 off list price.

I'm surprised to hear you are getting your new defender in March our cars aren't due to be built till the 30th of March for the launch in April. Where did you manage to drive one as I'd love to have a go ?

A £2500 discount is amazing, are you sure that you have not got one of the old 2006 MY Defenders ?

Yep, its definitely a 2007MY. Haven't driven one as yet, but been told definitely early March by the dealer (subject to exact delivery date from the factory). The £2,500 discount was because I'm a long standing customer ie: in the last 2.5 years, I've had 2 new Range Rovers, 1 new Range Rover Sport and 2 new Disco's off them, oh and a new Freelander (the old one) - so they don't really want to lose my business I guess.

Will speak to the dealer tomorrow to check on any delivery date progress and will report back accordingly.

Called them up today and it is definitely an 07MY. However, they did say that the date was originally pencilled in as 14/15th March, but it may be pushed back a couple of weeks. They'll know more this week. Found out discount obtained is actually just over £2,000.

The dealer is Stratstone.

I've ordered a car. Spoke to a lot of dealers. Without exception they said that they are expecting their very first cars late March/early April HOWEVER these will be Pickups and more basic versions. None of them were expecting other versions until late April/early May. They all offered 4% off List (approx £26,500 for my spec.) over phone - so I guess face to face, or as a regular customer, you could indeed expect more. I've gone for Jarva too. Looking forward to it!

Latest update is that the car will be built mid-March, so will have it 1st week of April apparently, although, they did say that the factory may bring it forward.

Yes thats what we have been told too, we are not getting our cars till mid-april, all the cars before then are hardtops, looking forward to it though as the Defender is my demo car.

07 Model defenders were out and about with LandRover at Gatcombe today, so i assume they're not far off being ready for sale.

Hi guys, well..... had a call from the dealer the other day to say that mine is built and ready but LR won't release it until April. Quite when in April I don't know, but the dealer did say that LR had a few quality issues with the new Defender and didn't want to let them go out until they were fully satisfied.
