you will have to approach someone like TVR Car parts down in Cornwall or any other good TVR car parts source. I got one from TVR Car parts and it is not quite the same as the original. Had to change the connector and it doesnt seem to screw in all the way like the old one did.

It may not give a totally accurate reading, mine reads low but the oil pressure is fine when checked out by alternative methods.

yes will try TVR carpars, but when I mean look for it, I actually mean where is it in the engine???

Is that the bit on the nearside of the engine below the middle spark plug just above the engine mount and behind the manifold ? I saw this last weekend covered by a rubber boot and oily grime. I may be wrong as I cant check in the Haynes book at the moment but that would be my guess (unless thats something else ?) no doubt some sage will confirm or correct soon...

On my V6 it is nearside, towards the front of the block, and just above the sump joint line. Has one black wire coming away from it.

Seem to think my old one had a rubber boot thing around part of it but the new engine had a sender in which appeared similar but without the rubber.The standard Ford oil pressure sender fitting seems to read correctly on my guage.

The trouble with the Ford fitting is that they didnt do an electronic one for the Capri it was a tube with oil making the guage work, they changed it for the Granada I think, being that old its hard to pin down.
The position is correct nearside towards the front, a bell housing with one wire running from it, with a rubber boot over the lot. The new one will be just metal with no rubber boot.

The gauges were made by an American company on the S1, did a lot of digging to find that out. This may give strange readings on cars, but hey ho we all know how you can trust a TVR gauge!!

Yes found it ok, getting dark tho so didnt try to do anyting with it.

Apparently a normal garage can check the oil presure by other measures, not too fussed about a proper reading but nice to know all is well, plus better for when my mechanicy mates get in the car & tell me my oil pumps shot it & the engine needs re-building!!

Best bit is, a ford dealer rents land off my boss, so parts are easy to get, usually same day so wll check out tommorow.
