Lamborghini hikes its prices
Take a very very deep breath...
Always fancied a Lambo? Better be quick, as Lamborghini has just increased its prices.
Bucking the trend in today's highly competitive car market, Lamborghini UK has announced list price increases on all current models.
A Gallardo now costs £4,000 more for the Coupé, which rises to £125,000 with the Spyder at £135,000, while the Murciélago LP640 Coupé will shell you an extra £2,000 at £192,000.
If you want a droptop, be prepared to pay £211,000 for a new Murciélago LP640 Roadster on its emergence in showrooms in April.
But you could pay more if you wanted of course: the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead, Pagani Zonda Roadster and Bentley Azure all cost more.
Just get that cheque book out...

A 4K price hike is hardly worth a mention these days.
Sales increased last year by over 30% compared to 2005. The Gallardo Spyder accounting for a fair chunk of this.
I really hope they don't start shelling them out like peas, though.
The Germans bought more Lambos than the Brits (for the first time in living memory) which may be down to the Audi connection, and the Italians almost matched UK sales.

What with the Gallardo now at 125K, the F430 at 137K (IIRC) and the F430 successor rumoured to be a V10 the opportunity for a sub 100K V8 car from both manufacturers is greater than ever.
Cue the much-mooted Ferrari Dino…
Am I right in thinking the spiritual ancestor to the F430 – the 308 was bought out to counter the hike in performance the 911 got when Porsche bought the turbo version out and was priced accordingly? The price gap has widened considerably over the years.

basci spec for a turbo is just under 100k
So it's quite a price hike from a 997 Turbo to a Gallardo or F430. I think Ferrari need to be pitching at this market.
Na, I think the difference of circa 20k needs to distinguish Ferrari form Porsche. The 911 turbo is IMO a different sort of car to the F430 and the two should not be considered in the same breath.
i.e one is for daily slogging and commuting (all be it at warp speed) the other is an expensive toy.

Perhaps they want to increase the price gap between the R8 and Gallardo
With (alledgedly) a Honda engine!
