As a few people are aware my XPS has gone tits up. Odd thing is Dell have shipped the replacement unit to the wrong address and are, alegedly, couriering it to me.
Odd thing is that they should be collecting the old one... but obviously (as it went to the wrong place aren't). So, on the assumption that my XPS Gen 2 is going to be kicking around does anyone know a cheap place to get parts for it (looks like the AC adapter was throwing out big chunky voltage... unless someone else knows why it was eating logic boards and CPU's).
It's just getting the thing going again would be handy for a friend (no, I'm not going to ebay it... first time it went wrong and the service tag appeared I'm up the creek).

Nope. Battery pack and some nice carry cases.
I'd need a minimum of logic board and CPU.

Interesting... I went through every page of CPU's listed and no P4-M's. Of course it could be me being as blind as a bat
Now where the hell is that Man with Van.... grrr...
Dell spares are provided by a company called Upgrade Options (www.upgrade.co.uk/) - they actually fulfil most of the Dell direct orders for spare parts too. If you don't like the quote they give you PM me and I'll see what I can arrange through work (I work for a corporate IT reseller).
