Hi all,
got home this evening and found I can't lock the Chimaera. When the radiokey is fired, the doors lock and the hazards start to flash but then a second later the alarm goes off and won't stop until I unlock the doors / alarm off again. Any ideas to get me through the night without sleeping in the car?

I have the META alarm system

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt,

you may well find that one of the door strikers that presses in the courtesy light switches has either fallen off, or isn't quite pressing enough.
Does your interiour light switch off 10 seconds (ish) after shutting the doors (assuming you have it set to do this of course)
Anyway if it is this, then a quick fix is to tape the plunger switch in, so that you can get some rest tonight

It might imply that the alarm thinks the car door has been "opened" - hence the check on the door rubbers to make sure the doors are "closed" . . .my META went belly up and had to have it replaced - so it could be a problem ..

Hi guys,
thanks for the responses.
Called out Mr AA, haven't had him out for years so thought I'd get my monies worth...he couldn't find the fault and wanted to start getting in behind the dashboard...in the dark...at around 11pm. Thoughts of cracked walnut dashes came to mind so I put him off that.
I noticed that the hazards weren't continuing to flash after the usual 4, and the alarm LED seemed to settle into the usual flashing state once set. We disconnected the siren and this allows the alarm to be set / doors locked AND get some sleep!
Rang dealer this morning and they reckon its the old moisture getting into the siren problem and I'll need to replace it (just the siren - £60 ish).
