Eyup Guys.
I'm more of a misty eyed ex-biker and this may be an old one, but I saw this in 'Motorcycle Mechanics' in the early 90's, went something like.....

'Hi, Ive got an RD125LC and recently the back light bulb packed up. I've put an elastic band round the front brake lever so the brake light was always on, but I'm finding the front pads are wearing out at an alarming rate. Can anyone recommend brake pads that have a longer lifespan?'
I hope this was someone having a laugh (f*#k my tin hat!)

Ah, two strokes. They had power bands, dont you know rolleyes

The number of times I have had to walk away from unknowledgeable wuckfits spouting about how they had a Yamazuki RDGTLC125 and got it to do 150 by putting new 'power bands' in... banghead

Did the electric starter work? My mate had an RD200 that would just about spin over if you jumped it from a car battery. Quite amusing to see that the starter/dynamo is back in favour now, but in cars...

Another mate had an RD400: one night whilst hurriedly rebuilding the engine to get out to a country pub, he mistimed the points and when he kicked it off, the engine ran backwards. Of course you don't notice until you let the clutch out... yikes
