Hi folks,

I'm at my wits' end with this one.

For the last 3.5 years I've had a broadband account with Demon, using a Draytek Vigor 2600We wireless router with my PC / laptop / wife's laptop. All machines running service packed XP, latest version of FireFox, virus checked, spyware checked, machines firewalled, ports blocked on router.

No problems until a few weeks ago - suddenly noticed that certain things were giving me problems. Immediately obvious on PH - click a link and all that happens is the activity indicator in the top right rotates, nothing happens. Hit refresh a few times, and just hammer the link, and after a while it suddenly loads at normal speed as if nothing happened. Also manifests itself by getting stuck on adverts half way down PH pages, won't load the rest of the page unless I refresh. It happens more often than it doesn't, on all the computers. I tried using IE which seemed to solve the problem, but recently I have noticed it still happens.

I have had problems to a certain extent with other websites, as has my wife. I have asked in website feedback and there don't appear to be any issues. Other people on demon don't seem to have the problems. ADSLguide.org comes back with an OK speed for my connection.

Tonight I even reset my router to factory settings and thought I had cured it but it is still happening.

Any ideas? It just started doing it one day and it is driving my absolutely mad, browsing PH is such a pain in the arse mad

This is a problem with this site, i complained a while back to Ted about the advert problem, it still happens to me, usually hitting F5 (refresh) fixes it as the adverts seem to chosen randomly. I presume its because the server that is hosting a particular advert is slow.

Yep same thing happens here from time to time, and my setup could not be more different to yours. I usually just flick to bbc news for a few minutes when it happens then normal service is resumed!

I get it on this site too. Hammering Refresh solves the problem.
