Discussion
Good afternoon guys,
After a few years of ummmming and arrring and disapproval from my other half she has decided to let me have one
I've been looking at many different bikes, but im un sure what will best for fill my needs as a first bike.
This is where I would like to ask a favor.........
Im after a 4 stroke sports bike 600cc max, I won’t be using it every day (weekends and dry weather only) and I have about £2500 to spend, any ideas please?
Thank you
Ben

Just joined biking world with a Triumph Thunderbird Sport 900. Not a sports bike in the true sense (more retro), but fantastic fun. Now looking into building collection of bikes, Laverda Ducati etc to go with TVR. All bikes seem good value compared with cars. More bangs for your bucks !

Personally for that kind of cash, and that kind of useage, I'd rather have a Duc 900SS......
The larger capacity and torquier V-twin will more user friendly than some demented rev-happy 4 cyl 600 for a new rider.
And then there's the sound......
You MUST try the bikes although all the jap 600's seem similar they all have different charecters. R6 manic but fun when you are in the mood. ZX6 more laid back great motor able to go touring if required. One left field bike worth trying is the Suzuki 650, great first bike. Me R6 as I am always in the mood!
If this is your first bike go and try lots of different types of bikes. Don't just limit yourself to sports bikes as you will be chopping off a lot of the market and you don't know what type of bike you want til you try lots!
To some extent it use may define a good bike, sunday blasting in good weather then sports bikes = good. Lots od commuting in piss poor weather in the dark I hate them.
I guess my advice would be to be completely open minded on bike choice!
