1984/5 Rear wheel drive Corolla GT
Supposed to be 1600cc but now has 2000cc Vauxhall
Nice but simple weld in cage
Fire ext, cut off, FIA seat/harness
15 inch wheels
Approx 900kg

I would like to use the car for some competitions this year. Wont be able to afford full season but probably do 3 or 4 events. Would there be anything I could be competative in or will I be out classed in every championship?

Thanks in advance

James

Where are you based? It would probably be worth looking at one of the sports/saloon championships, such as BARC NW, DDMC or one of the southern equivalents. With your car you're not going to be competing for outright wins in such a championship, but they run multiple classes so you have the chance of class wins which can, depending on the championship structure, give you a chance of winning the champioship.

I'd imagine that the engine might limit your choice of championship, due to it not being original to the car.

I'm based at Silverstone.

Yeah I think you're going to be right about the engine swap. When we built the car the plan was to use it purely for drifting but now the car has taken so much time and money I feel using it for drifting only would be a waste. Heard of something called Modified Saloons but haven't found any info yet.

Yeah, I will be doing EDC anyway but I'd like to do a couple of races too. Money per tracktime ratio in drifting isn't that great.
