Leven Pedals don't fit.

I got hold of a set of Leven Pedals which were advertised on ebay for a Griffith or Chimaera.
Only they don't fit my '92 Griff

There are 2 pedals with posts on the back and one pedal with no post and 2 countersunk bolts - which I guess will be the accelerator. All the pedal fronts are the same and look exactly like the ones on the LT website.

The reason they won't fit my car is the thread on the posts is about twice as fine as the ones on my pedals.


Does anyone know what these fit?

Just had a crawl round my peddles which are also LT replacements and they look to have the fine thread also i will dig out my old peddles and have a look at them

Yes my old peddles look like UNF also so i recon your peddles are not with the normaly used thread, well they look like a wider pitch metric imho.

When you order from Leven, they give a choice of threads IIRC

I wonder if its an older car thing then, because if I read you right these would fit your 500. The LT website states the pedals you can currently buy (SSP5 & SSP6) are for '93 onwards - so I wonder if thats the issue.

Do you reckon I could make these fit or would I perhaps be better just selling these and getting something else - such as the OMP / Richbrook pedal extensions as they seem to be called. Oh, and does anyone know why is there a disclaimer on these pedals saying they are for offroad and show use only?

Because on some interpretations, bare pedal surfaces are not lawful due to lack of slip resistance. No idea what construction and use reg is supposed to be contravened but that's what I've seen regurgitated...

Edited to add... would hasten to say I use bare Leven pedals and have never had a hint of a problem with slip (or of any sort). Great mod

For what it takes to get them to fit, i would move them on on Fleabay stating the unf thread then buy from LT.
I would not mess with other products for a car like ours mate and in any case the LT stuff is Top Quality
