I have just suffered yet another duff rotor arm. (the second in five months!)
The first was one I bought from Halfwits. It lasted one month before failing (and set me back over £300 for a garage to diagnose what the trouble was.) The second time came this morning. When I checked the arm I found that the garage had replaced it with another non Lucas arm that was, in all respects, the same type as before.furious
Hope this may be of help when some of us are suffering the despair of our P&J not starting.

What's going wrong with them? It may be that the failures are being provoked by some other problem.

I'm not sure, but a chum of mine who owns a garage reckons he has heard of a batch of bad arms that short out through to the dizzy spindle. He told me to stick with the Lucas arms if poss.
